China: Auto probe forces Jaguar price cuts

Luxury automobile maker Jaguar has reportedly announced plans to lower prices in China as a direct result of an investigation into the pricing practices of several carmakers in the nation, according to reports.

    Jaguar Land Rover may reduce prices by up to 19 percent, the company said Friday. The move is response to the National Development and Reform Commission’s competition investigation into pricing practices. Authorities are eyeing several foreign auto makers, though details on the probe are scarce.

    In addition to the announcement on prices, Jaguar said it was taking the NDRC’s investigation “very seriously.”
