 |  January 19, 2015

Alcatel-Lucent’s China joint venture is being investigated by the company itself after an HR director at Alcatel Shanghai Bell Co. Ltd. (ASB) posted a message in WeChat saying, “many high-level executives at ASB and its subsidiaries of corruption and abusing their power.” The whistleblower, Jia Lining, has not been seen since January 14 when his car was found abandoned on a Shanghai bridge. The disappearance has been confirmed with the SASAC agency which supervises China’s national level state-owned enterprises.

Following the allegations, ASB has launched an investigation into the corruption claims in coordination with its supervising agencies. However, ASB claims that there are discrepancies between the facts and the allegations made in the WeChat post.
