China: Toyota joins the ranks of targeted carmakers

    Unnamed sources say Toyota executives were approached by the National Development and Reform Commission regarding pricing practices for car parts manufacturers for its Lexus luxury car unit. The sources, who are Toyota executives, added that the probe involved questions about Lexus spare and replacement parts.

    If true, the development makes Toyota the latest foreign auto maker to come under fire by Chinese competition authorities. Earlier this month, China issued first-ever sanctions against foreign car companies, including Volkswagen and Chrysler.
