E.U.: Commission okays U.K., German, Dutch tech security venture

The European Commission has announced its approval for three companies to jointly create a new enterprise in developing an electronic security standard. ARM Holdings PLC, based in the U.K.; Gemalto NV, based in the Netherlands; and Geisecke & Devrient GmbH, based in Germany, have all been approved on the joint endeavor. The European Commission did decide, however, that the companies would need to meet certain conditions so as to not dampen the competitive climate. The three companies are all in the market of digitalization and security of intellectual property and related technologies.
