E.U.: Ryanair tries yet again to acquire Aer Lingus

In its third attempt to buy Aer Lingus, Ryanair has offered even more remedies to the European Commission, according to the authority, which will now decide by the end of February whether to block the proposed merger. The authority did not say, however, exactly what those remedies are. Previous offers by Ryanair have included promises by two other airlines to set up bases in Dublin to increase competition, and for Ryanair to no longer travel along some of its existing routes from Ireland currently flown by both Ryanair and Aer Lingus.
