EU: France, Germany, and Poland present proposals for EU antitrust law reform

On Thursday, July 4, ministers from France, Germany, and Poland released a proposal to “Modernize EU Competition Policy.” “With regard to competition policy, France, Germany and Poland invite the European Commission to consider the following options:
1. Modernizing merger control
2. Strengthening European joint ventures and cooperation
3. Reinforcing advisory capacities and broadening the expertise
4. Strengthening the Council’s input into policy- and decision-making 7. Encouraging behavioral remedies”
