EU: Philips, LG, Samsung appeal portion of $2B price-fixing fine

Philips, LG and Samsung have all appealed their respective fines issued by the European Commission for the price-fixing of cathode-ray tubes, a case that resulted in issuing nearly $2 billion worth of fines to electronics companies. Toshiba has also reportedly appealed its fine, though the EU General Court in Luzemboug did not confirm. The companies were fined last December after authorities in the EU, Japan and Korea conducted investigations; the companies were found to have conspired to fix the prices of the electronics display part.
