Bulgaria’s Competition Protection Commission (CPC) has fined four companies–Datex, Daisy Technology, Tremol, and Eltrade–for operating a cash register cartel. After a three-year investigation, the CPC found that the companies coordinated prices for cash registers and printers, effecting price hikes in 2008 and 2009. Datex was fined the heaviest, at BGN 503,000. Eltrade’s BGN 258,000 fine follows; Daisy Technology was fined BGN 156,000 and Tremol BGN 82,500.
