France: Bidders line up for unconfirmed coffee sales

 |  October 19, 2014

It is unconfirmed whether two French coffee brands will be up for sale next year, but rival bidders have already emerged for the deal.

According to reports, Italy-based Lavazza and Israel-based Strauss Group are preparing rival bids for the brands, L’Or and Grand Mere. The sales are expected as part of a merger between Mondelez International and D.E. Master Blenders to ease competition concerns, say reports.

Unnamed sources say the Italian and Israeli companies have hired advisors to submit a bid for the French companies. Reports say the assets could be worth up to $640 million.
