Germany’s Deutsche Lufthansa has reportedly reached an agreement with technology conglomerate IBM in a seven-year IT outsourcing deal.
Reports say under terms of the deal, IBM will acquire Lufthansa’s information technology infrastructure operations starting April 1, 2015; that takeover will lead IBM to boost Lufthansa’s business analytics, mobile computing and social business efforts, the companies say, and increase Lufthansa’s cloud computing technologies.
Lufthansa says the deal will amount to more tan $87 million in cost savings.
Reports say the deal was inked for $1.25 billion and remains subject to regulatory approval.
