Germany: Regulators approves HERE maps €2.8 billion acquisition by carmakers

The German antitrust authority has completed its review of the acquisition of digital map maker HERE by the consortium of auto manufacturers BMW, Daimler and Audi and authorized the transaction.

    The audit of the “Bundeskartellamt“ concluded that on the buying side car makers outside of the consortium are not denied access to map data. On the supply side the antitrust authority is not considering TomTom is denied access to car manufacturers.
