Germany: ThyssenKrupp offers immunity to resolve corruption scandals

The largest steelmaker in Germany has announced the implementation of an amnesty program in efforts to increase compliance within the corporation and resolve several scandals that have plagued the business. ThyssenKrupp announced the plans in a written statement, detailing that employees will be exempt from punishment if they come forward with information the help the case. The steel giant has faced various price-fixing scandals that resulted in more than $135 million in fines by Germany’s antitrust authority last summer. On top of that, the company is also facing new allegations from customers concerning damage claims. The amnesty program will run through June 15, according to reports.
