Dawson, who has built a career advising on cross-border merger control and foreign investment screening, brings expertise in navigating multi-jurisdictional transactions. Per the statement, he has guided companies through merger investigations and handled negotiations with competition authorities around the world. His work spans a range of industries, from life sciences and digital platforms to energy, chemicals, packaging, and air transport.

The firm emphasized that Dawson’s appointment is part of a broader strategy to enhance its antitrust capabilities in Europe. “Adam’s arrival marks a significant step in the growth of our European antitrust platform,” said Christian Riis-Madsen, Co-Chair of Gibson Dunn’s Antitrust and Competition Practice Group and partner in charge of the Brussels office. “His deep experience in merger control and antitrust matters, especially in the life sciences and technology sectors, complements our global practice and enhances our ability to serve clients in complex cross-border matters. Adam’s strong relationships and business development acumen make him a valuable addition to our team.”

Dawson, admitted to practice in Brussels, expressed enthusiasm about his new role. “I am thrilled to join Gibson Dunn’s outstanding team in Brussels,” he said. “The firm’s exceptional global reach and collaborative culture offer an ideal environment to grow the practice and better serve clients in Europe and beyond. I look forward to contributing to the continued success of the Antitrust and Competition Practice Group.”

According to the statement, his addition underscores the increasing importance of Brussels as a hub for competition law, particularly as regulators intensify their scrutiny of mergers and acquisitions in sectors such as technology and health. With Dawson’s arrival, Gibson Dunn positions itself to meet rising demand for legal guidance in high-stakes investigations and complex filings across global jurisdictions.
