Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton announced Monday the promotion of eight lawyers to partner and two lawyers to counsel, effective January 1, 2015.
The law firm’s promotions span across various legal specialties including antitrust and competition, mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property. The lawyers promoted are based in Hong Kong, London and New York, the firm said.
Among those promotions includes partner Adam Brenneman, who focuses on mergers and acquisitions, among other finance and business-related matters. Meyer Fedida similarly nabbed a new position as partner; he focuses on the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, the firm said.
Antitrust lawyers Ari MacKinnon and Lisa Vicens were also promoted to partner.
Paul Gilbert was promoted to counsel through his expertise in UK and EU competition law. The lawyer is currently involved in two major cases including Ryanair’s appeal of a ruling to divest its shares in Aer Lingus, as well as Lafarge’s plans to merge with Holcim.
According to Cleary Gottlieb, the promotions lead the firm to include 195 partners and 48 counsel worldwide.
