Global: Transport mergers double in late-2013, says PwC

PwC released a study that found global transport merger deals to have doubled in the fourth quarter of 2013, say reports, as the number of deal rose by 57 percent.

    PwC found $10.7 billion worth of transport mergers in the third-quarter, spiking to $23.2 billion in the fourth-quarter. A total of 66 mergers worth at least $50 million were struck in that time period.

    Further, PwC said it expects such transaction to continue to rise as global economic expansion continues.
