Google has settled the penalty amount of $160M imposed by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) for anti-competitive practices in the Android ecosystem.
Google paid a $160M penalty imposed by the Competition Commission of India for anti-competitive practices in the Android ecosystem, in response to the government’s aim to introduce a new Digital India Act.
In March, the NCLAT upheld the CCI’s penalty of $160M on Google in the Android mobile devices case, with some modifications. The appellate tribunal directed Google to implement the direction and deposit the amount within 30 days.
