 |  February 8, 2012

The Hellenic Competition Commission has fined Tasty Foods, the Greek snack unit of PepsiCo, € 16.177.514 million for abuse of its dominant position (violations of Articles 2 of Greek Law 703/77 and 102 TFEU) and infringements of restrictive agreements (violations of Articles 1 of Greek Law 703/77 and 101 TFEU). According to the Commission Press Release, Tasty Foods “sought to exclude its competitors from smaller retail outlets (notably kiosks, grocery stores and traditional food stores & mini-markets), and to limit their growth possibilities.” The activities penalized, including wholesale exclusivity agreements and conditional reates, took place from 2000 to 2008.
