Hong Kong: Companies advised to familiarize with competition rules

The Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries has announced the release of the Guidance Note on Competition Law, a public document that aims to educate Hong Kong companies with competition policy.

The guidance precludes Hong Kong’s incoming Competition Ordinance that, according to a press release, will “provide significant changes to the regulatory landscape.” Those changes, the HKICS said, mean companies should review the regulations and educate their employees on how to conduct business in line with competition law.

The document is available online and will reportedly be one of several educational tools to ease the rollout of the Competition Ordinance. The guidelines are issued by the Hong Kong Competition Commission.
