House passes act that repeals McCarran-Ferguson antitrust exemption for health insurers

The U.S. House of Representatives has passed the Protecting Access to Healthcare Act. The legislation was amended on the floor to repeal the limited antitrust exemption provided by the McCarran-Ferguson Act for health insurers. The repeal, however, specifically exempts property and casualty insurers.
