India: CCI dismisses ‘baseless’ allegations of accreditation boards’ abuse of dominance
The Competition Commission of India has rejected a complaint against Quality Council of India and the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories for abuse of market dominance. In its ruling, the CCI called the allegations – made by the Accreditation Commission for Conformity Assessment Bodies – “baseless.” The Accreditation Commission for Conformity Assessment Bodies had alleged that the QCI attempted to make agreements with various government agencies to become an exclusive accreditation agency. Additionally, the NABTCL was accused of similar conduct.
