India: CCI eyes five in suspected pharma co stock conspiracy

Five entities – four companies and one executive – are now being probed by the Competition Commission of India after complaints of anticompetitive stockiest-ship appointments. Pharmaceutical companies Cipla, Macleods Pharmaceutical and FDC Ltd are all under investigation, as well as the trade body Himachal Pradesh Society of Chemist and Druggist Alliance, as well as its president. According to reports, the CCI is looking into allegations that the trade body illegally controlled the appointment of stockist-ship of the pharmaceutical companies that are part of the Society. The CCI has recognized the complaints that competitors could not be granted stockish-ship due to the collusive agreements.
