India: CCI gains new chairman

In an announcement released on Friday, November 9, India’s Corporate Affairs Ministry revealed that a new chairman of the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has been appointed.

    Former Indian Administrative Service officer Ashok Kumar Gupta has been appointed as the chairperson of the CCI and his appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

    The appointment will last until October 25, 2022. Gupta will replace acting chairperson Sudhir Mital.
