    In response to these remarks, TikTok swiftly rejected allegations made by a Jakarta government minister, who had suggested that the platform posed a threat to small businesses and overall business competition.

    The country’s antitrust body, KPPU, echoed its confidence in TikTok’s operations, affirming that it perceives no wrongdoing in the platform’s activities. However, KPPU remains committed to maintaining a close watch on TikTok’s operations.

    Afif elucidated, “If a company operates an e-commerce platform, offers products for sale, and provides access to payment agents and advertising, these elements are merely indicative of the broader e-commerce ecosystem.”
