Japan: Emergency radio market faces monopoly claims

Three players in Japan’s market for firefighting emergency radio systems are reportedly under investigation for monopolistic behavior, say reports.

    Japan’s Fair Trade Commission is probing electronics firm NEC, Japan Radio Co and Oki Electric Industry, the companies said, on suspicion of anticompetitive conduct. The companies did not elaborate on exactly what behavior raised eyebrows at the FTC, however.

    The companies said they are all cooperating with the investigation.
