Namibia: Competition regulator’s new appointments draw controversy

The Namibian Competition Commission, also known as NaCC, has been forced to defend its recent appointments and assure the public that the regulator’s newest additions were put through rigorous interviewing processes. The defense comes after an anonymous source approached the media last week claiming that the NaCC appointed executives who were not qualified for the job. Acting CEO Vitalis Ndalikokule assured reporters that the director, who was unnamed, was put through the same interview process as other hires, despite the source’s claims that the director, along with other senior and junior level positions, were under-qualified for the job.
