Netherlands’ competition authority ACM announced its agenda for 2014, a six-point program that outlines which industries are top priority for the regulator.
Reports say ACM will promote investment in the telecom and energy industry, look to boost competition in public procurement, facilitate contract switching in the healthcare and energy markets, and reduce barriers to entry in the banking industry.
The goals also include a focus on online and healthcare consumers.
The agenda comes following Netherlands’ merger of its two competition authorities; reports say since the forces combined, the new ACM has upped its focus on consumer protection.
Parties have until March 15 to submit comments or concerns regarding ACM’s agenda.
