Telco mobile Carlos Slim announced his wireless conglomerate America Movil plans to made a $9.6 billion offer for the Netherland’s Royal KPN, a transaction that may snarl KPN’s plans to sell its largest asset E-Plus to Spain-based Telefonica. The sale of E-Plus was announced just weeks ago. America Movil told media on Friday that it has not made a decision as to whether it would support E-Plus’s sale, a transaction planned for $10.8 billion. Telefonica is one of America Movil’s largest rivals. KPN said it would meet with shareholders in the coming weeks to discuss the matter.
