New Zealand: Hirepool seeks clearance to acquire Hirequip

BlighFinance Limited, owner of the Hirepool rental business, has sought permission from the Commerce Commission of New Zealand to acquire the business of HireEquipment Group Limited (Hirequip). Hirepool and Hirequip both provide general construction, building and Do-It-Yourself equipment hire services throughout New Zealand. The Commerce Commission has to decide whether the proposed transaction would harm competition in the market.
