 |  October 25, 2016

Peru’s congress has announced it will form a special commission to evaluate the way to regulate business Mergers and Acquisitions, in order to prevent possible negative effects to the market and to free competition which may harm consumers and users. The commission will be formed under the responsibility of the Economy Commission, led by Vice-President Mercedes Araoz.

“What we are doing is promoting the debate within Congress, discussing a policy for regulating and controlling the process of Mergers and Acquisitions. To this end, we commission the project to the Congressional Commission for the Economy” said congressman Jorge Castillo, spokesman for the APRILES political group, main backers of this new regulation.
