Peru: Regulator publishes guidelines for Leniency Program

Peruvian regulator INDECOPI’s Technical Secretariat has published a Project Guidelines for a Leniency Program and Motive Revelation. The Peruvian entity, which regulates markets and competition in various sectors in Peru, expects to receive comments from specialists and citizens over the coming days before a final resolution, in hopes of promoting efficiency and transparency.

    The guidelines are intended to improve the application of Peru’s Leniency Program, which offers total exemption from fines to the first company or person who steps forward to reveal their participation in a cartel, or who collaborates with the Technical Secretariat in detecting, researching and fining other members of the cartel.
