Russian: Competition watchdog opens case against Defense Ministry

Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has opened a case against the Defense Ministry over alleged restraint of competition, RIA Novosti reported Wednesday.

    According to the FAS, enterprises have been required to choose production suppliers which achieved certification only in the voluntary certification system “Ele?troncert” established by the ministry.

    The FAS also said in its statement that voluntary certification systems specializing in certificate issuing are in unequal conditions.
