Sharis Pozen steps down as Acting Assistant AG of the DOJ Antitrust Division

Acting Assistant Attorney General of the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division, Sharis Pozen, has announced she will step down, effective April 30, 2012. Pozen’s tenure at the DOJ began on February 16, 2009, and Attorney General Eric Holder appointed her as Acting Assistant AG of the Antitrust Division, succeeding Christine A. Varney, on August 4, 2011.

Pozen’s replacements are rumored to be William J. Baer (Arnold & Porter, former director of the FTC’s competition bureau), Richard Parker (O’Melveny & Myers), and Seth Bloom (aide to Senator Herb Kohl), according to the New York Times.
