Shell’s proposed divestitures for Rontec fuel station acquisition being considered

 |  February 3, 2012

The Office of Fair Trading is considering divestitures offered by Shell for its 2011 completed acquisition of 253 gas stations from Rontec. Although the OFT had found that the acquisition does not raise competition concerns on a national level, there were concerns about the retail sale of fuel and auto-LPG in six local areas. As a result, Shell offers to divest six stations in those local areas, as well as the stations’ auto-LPG assets.
