South Africa: GrainCorp buyout cleared before China, EU approval

South Africa’s Competition Commission announced its clearance for agriculture company Archer Daniels Midland Company to acquire GrainCorp, becoming the world’s fourth regulator to do so, according to a press release. ADM awaits approval from antitrust regulators in China, Australia, Japan, South Korea and the European Union. The deal was approved by authorities in US, Australia and Canada.
