The new company will see MyTaxi retain 60% of shares, whlle Hailo earns the right to name the new venture’s CEO. The company launched its services in Spain, as it is at the time the only European country to host both platforms. The companies added that their respective mobile apps will continue to operate separately until 2017, when their new, joint platform will be ready to launch.

MyTaxi and Hailo control a combined fleet of up to 11,000 vehicles, covering Spain’s major cities including Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla and Valencia. The company has said it intends to gradually expand to the rest of Europe.
