According to a statement issued by COMCO on Wednesday, regulators are looking into whether SMG’s practices on its property platforms could amount to unfair restrictions on competition. The watchdog emphasized that the inquiry is still at an informal stage and does not yet constitute a formal investigation.

SMG, for its part, said it maintains ongoing dialogue with COMCO on multiple issues. Per a statement from the company, the regulator has not opened an official probe against it. SMG also stressed that it believes its activities comply with existing regulations.

The development follows reporting by the Swiss news outlet Inside Paradeplatz, which first highlighted COMCO’s interest in SMG’s business practices.
