Switzerland: Competition Commission raids offices of piano maker Steinway

According to reports, the Swiss Competition Commission has raided the offices of Steinway & Sons Swiss dealers as part of the antitrust authority’s probe into the piano manufacturing company. In a statement e-mailed to the press, the Swiss Competition Commission is investigating the company over alleged deals made to fix prices of the pianos manufactured and to determine areas to sell them; as a result, some neighboring countries may have been barred from having the pianos imported. A spokesperson for the Steinway declined to comment.
