Thailand: Honda in hot water for unfair trading practices

The Trade Competition Commission met last week to ask the Office of the Attorney General to indict AP Honda for antitrust violations, according to a statement from Commerce Minister Boonsong Teriyapirom. Honda is accused of violating the Competition Trade Act of 1999 with regards to its practice of prohibiting motorcycle dealers from selling competing brands, a finding of the Commission’s investigation into the matter. The statute of limitations expires in April and the Office of the Attorney General will decide whether or not to pursue a legal case against Honda.
