U.K.: Ryanair fighting against simultaneous antitrust probes

Ryanair Holdings Plc is appealing an investigation into its share of Aer Lingus Group Plc by the Competition Commission. Ryanair owns 30 percent of the airline, and argues that the Competition Commission’s review of the stake overlaps with the European Union’s current inquiry into Ryanair’s plans to buyout Aer Lingus. The European Commission has objected to the deal, citing concerns over competition. A lawyer for Ryanair has questioned with it is “sensible” to have two investigations into the airline at one time.
