UK: OFT fines Mercedes-Benz, dealers $4M

A nearly $4 million fine has been slapped onto three of Mercedes-Benz’s UK dealerships for price-fixing. According to reports, the Office of Fair trading has imposed the fines in part of its crackdown in the trucking industry; Mercedes’ UK branch and its three dealers have reportedly admitted to the scheme involving market sharing and collusion to exchange commercially-sensitive information, as well as price fixing. The scheme involved commercial vehicle distribution between 2008 and 2010.
