United Arab Emirates: Financial head endorses stock exchange merger

The head of the United Arab Emirates’ Securities and Commodities Authority has endorsed a potential merger between the UAE’s major stock exchanges, promoting the deal as one advantageous to the nation’s economy and financial market. According to reports, Abdulla al-Turifi emailed a statement in favor of the merger that would combine the stock exchanges of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Sources have also told reporters that the government believes the deal would increase financial investment to the UAE.
