The Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (URCA) is conducting a public consultation on current universal service obligations. The measures are imposed on the Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) and Cable Bahamas Limited (CBL), as universal service providers. They provide reasonable access to a baseline level of telecom services: BTC provides dial-up internet and telephone services and CBL provides television and internet services. URCA is accepting comment until June 29, 2012.
