US: Apple makes good on promise to appeal eBooks verdict

As expected, Apple Inc. formally filed its appeal of a July verdict that ordered the tech giant to modify contracts made with eBooks publishers and to be subject to an external monitor.

    The ruling was finalized by US District Judge Denise Cote last month in a highly publicized lawsuit launched by the Department of Justice.

    The DOJ settled with major eBooks publishers in the same case, but Apple decided to go to court.

    The appeal was reportedly filed last Thursday in New York.
