US: Assistant Chief of the DOJ Antitrust Division returns to Cleary Gottlieb

Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton announced on Monday, November 5, that Kathleen Bradish—formerly the Assistant Chief of the US Department of Justice Antitrust Division’s International Section—has returned to the firm as a counsel.

She is based in the Washington, DC office and will focus on the full range of civil antitrust matters.

“We are thrilled to have Kathy return to the firm,” said Cleary Managing Partner Michael Gerstenzang. “Before leaving for the Department of Justice, Kathy was a respected member of our exceptional global antitrust practice. Her government service and accomplishments have only added to the depth of her experience. Kathy will be a wonderful complement to our already formidable practice.”

Kathy joined the International Section of the Antitrust Division in 2015, where she was quickly promoted to Assistant Chief. During her time with the Division, Kathy interacted with lawyers and economists, assisting with international aspects of merger reviews and investigations. Kathy played an important role coordinating with international antitrust enforcers, and she regularly presented the Division’s enforcement views at international events.
