US: Does Nestle squeeze out its ice cream competition?

According to reports, Nestle and its subsidiary Dryer’s has been sued by Clemmy’s over allegations that Nestle squeezes other ice cream competitors off the shelves, including sugar-free and healthier brands. Nestle allegedly puts pressure on food retailers to limit the shelf space available to Clemmy’s sugar-free products, or to strategically place Clemmy’s products out-of-sight on the shelves. Nestle is the ice cream market dominator in the US, with 24 percent control over the industry. On top of its own ice cream brands, Nestle owns Dryer’s Ed’s ice cream as well as the Skinny Cow brand.
