 |  July 3, 2013

The US Department of Justice Antitrust Division’s Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Criminal Enforcement Scott Hammond announced his resignation on Wednesday, news confirmed by the DOJ. Hammond, who served his post since January 2005, will leave the DOJ on October 1, according to reports. In a statement, the division’s Assistant Attorney General William Baer said Hammond’s service to the DOJ was given “with distinction and integrity.” Hammond has been at the DOJ since 2000 to enforce US antitrust law. He was involved in major cases such as last year’s LCD price-fixing scandal. Future plans for Hammond were not revealed.
