US/France: Tequila Avion sells to Pernod Ricard

New York-based Tequila Avion has reportedly sold a significant portion of its operations to France-based beverage conglomerate Pernod Ricard.

    Reports say that while financial details of the transaction were not disclosed by the parties, sources estimate the deal to be worth about $100 million, likely an all-cash agreement.

    Reports say premium tequila volume has spiked by 481 percent in the last decade. Tequila Avion, founded only five years ago, has big-time investors including YouTube co-founder Chat Hurley and AOL’s Tim Armstrong.
