US: Judge Cote has little sympathy for Apple complaints

 |  December 5, 2013

US Judge Denise Cote, who ordered the establishment of an external monitor for Apple after finding the company had colluded to fix eBooks prices, has responded to Apple’s complaint against that monitor’s high fees in an order issued earlier this week.

In her order, Judge Cote acknowledges Apple’s complaints, issued late last month with the court, but points out that last September the court had already established a process for Apple to handle the issue.

That process is for Apple to contact the US Department of Justice within 10 calendar days of the action to which Apple objects.

Apple claimed in a recent filing that its external monitor Michael Bromwich is too expensive. Details on how Apple will respond to Judge Cote’s order have not yet emerged.
