Donald Sterling, the disgraced owner of the NBA Los Angeles Clippers team, has complicated the saga of a sale of the Clippers with a new lawsuit, say reports.
As Sterling fights for control over the team in the wake of an agreement between his wife Shelly and the NBA to sell the Clippers, Sterling has filed a new suit that accuses Shell of “deliberate collaboration and collusion with the NBA, Commissioner Adam Silver, and Steve Ballmer,” which the suit describes as “extreme and outrageous conduct.”
The complaint was filed in Los Angeles Wednesday, in the midst of a trial being held to determine whether Shelly has the right to complete the sale of the Clippers, reached in the wake of racist remarks allegedly made by Sterling through secret audio tapings.
Sterling filed an lawsuit last month to block the sale of the team based on the NBA’s forced divestiture of the Clippers, a decision made before Shelly reached an agreement with the league.
