US: Steve Jobs’ biographer avoids involvement in Apple e-books class action

Steve Jobs’ authorized biographer Walter Isaacson has successfully avoided the ongoing e-books against Apple Inc, despite subpoenas to learn more information for the prosecution. Isaacson reportedly interviewed Jobs 40 times before the Apple founder’s death in 2011. Lawyers for the prosecution against Apple in a class-action case concerning allegations of price-fixing of e-books requested information from Isaacson, but later retracted the subpoenas of the author. The US Department of Justice is gearing up for its own private action against the company concerning the same matter, and a trial is set to start June 3.
